Ricordate i gomitoli di fettuccia di
questo post?
Ebbene dopo tentativi, esperimenti, progetti abbandonati, alla fine ho deciso di realizzare dei
portavasi decorativi.
Questa idea mi è venuta perchè volevo sfruttare
l’elasticità delle fettucce, che consente a dei semplici cilindri lavorati a maglia o uncinetto di adattarsi alla forma che si trovano a ricoprire.
Poi ho pensato che il vaso potesse essere realizzato riciclando
bottiglie o vasetti che abbiamo in casa e che stiamo per buttare: qui sotto ho rivestito una bottiglia del latte intera, e una mezza bottiglia dell’acqua per il vasetto più piccolo.
Ho lavorato a
maglia (punto riso nel vaso beige, maglia rasata in quello blu) e
uncinetto –ebbene sì, ho imparato un pochino- (maglia bassa) dei semplici rettangoli, prendendo come riferimento una bottiglia dell’acqua. Più o meno ho impostato 28 catenelle per l’uncinetto e 24 per la maglia, e ho lavorato fino a raggiungere l’altezza che desideravo.
Poi ho chiuso il rettangolo a formare un cilindro, usando una fettuccia di colore contrastante con un
intreccio di questo tipo:
Ho cucito dei punti semplici tra le due estremità, formando delle linee orizzontali, tessendoli poi in verticale con la stessa fettuccia, prendendone uno sì e uno no. Ho fermato poi le fettucce con dei nodi all’interno del cilindro.

Qui sotto ho usato un avanzo di fettuccia per impreziosire con un fiocco un portavaso monocolore.
Si possono fare molte
varianti, unendo due quadrati invece che fare un rettangolo, oppure usare più colori, o ancora cambiare il punto della lavorazione. L’unico punto debole di questo materiale è che rende poco, e per ciascuno dei portavasi ho dovuto utilizzare un bel gomitolone… perciò tra poco farò un’ispezione dll’armadio alla ricerca di T-shirt da buttare dalle quali ricavare altri gomitoli.

Well after attempts, experiments, abandoned projects in the end I decided to make some decorative cache pot.
This idea came because I wanted to exploit the flexibility of webbing, which allows simple knitted or crocheted cylinder to fit the shape that it covers.
Then I thought that the vase could be achieved by recycling bottles or jars that we have at home and we are going to throw: below I covered a bottle of milk, and half a bottle of water for the smallest jar.
I knitted and crocheted -yes, I learned a little- simple rectangles. I set 28 chains for crochet and 24 for knitting, and I worked up to the height I wanted.
Then I closed the rectangle to form a cylinder, using a strip of color contrasting with a plot like this-see image: I sewed simple points between the two ends to form horizontal lines, weaving vertically with the same tape, take one and go off. I then stopped with a node within the cylinder.

Below I used a leftover ribbon to embellish with a bow.
You can make many variations, for example joining two squares instead of making a rectangle, or use more colors, or change the point of manufacture.The only weak point of this material is that it makes little, and for each of the pots I had to use a big ball... so soon I will inspect my wardrobe looking for T-shirts to transform into balls.
