Fryd Design

Facendo il mio giretto quotidiano tra i blog che seguo, questa mattina ho trovato una sorpresa: è stato pubblicato online il secondo numero di Fryd Design, un magazine norvegese che trovo ricco di ispirazioni e di immagini fantastiche.



E cosa ti trovo? Un intero servizio su Bergamo, la mia città. Trovo le fotografie molto evocative, alcune avrei voluto scattarle io! Ci sono scorci caratteristici, diversi dalle foto turistiche “classiche”. Alcune immagini ritraggono anche la parte bassa della città, la meno attraente ma… a vederla lì non sembra poi tanto male!

Doing my daily stroll among the blogs I follow, this morning I found a surprise: the second issue of Fryd Design, a Norwegian magazine that I find inspiring and fantastic images, was published online.
And what did I find in it? A full service on Bergamo, my hometown. I found very evocative photographs, I wish I was able to take some of them! There are several characteristic views, different from classic tourist photos. Some images also depict the lower part of the city, the less attractive but seeing it in these pictures... it doesn’t seem so bad!Here is a link to the blog and here the link to the issue of the magazine on Issuu ... the English version is not yet available, but images speak  for themselves ...

Alphabet Stamps

Oggi voglio condividere un tutorial per realizzare dei timbrini.
L’idea mi è venuta passando davanti allo scaffale cartoleria dell’Esselunga, dove ho trovato queste confezioni di gommine a forma di lettere e numeri.



Mi sono quindi procurata dei listelli di legno da tagliare per ricavare il supporto rigido per ogni timbro.



Ora, fortunatamente mio cognato ha il seghetto elettrico, e vedendomi faticare in modo immondo con il traforo in mano ha avuto pietà di me e in quattro e quattr’otto mi ha tagliato tutti i pezzi.
Per fare da supporto ai timbri possono andare bene anche materiali di recupero come tappi di plastica, piastrelle rotte o pezzi di legno trovati qua e là… Certo l’effetto dei supporti tutti belli uguali è un’altra cosa!

Poi con le tempere acriliche ho utilizzato le gommine per timbrare sul retro di ogni supporto la lettera corrispondente.



Infine ho incollato ciascuna gomma sul rispettivo supporto. Attenzione ad incollare le lettere in modo speculare rispetto a come si scrivono!



e… TA DAAAAA!!!

Today I want to share a tutorial to make some alphabet stamps.
The idea came to me by the stationery shelf  at the supermarket, where I found this pack of rubbers shaped as letters and numbers.


I took two long wood pieces to be cut to make the support for each stamp.
Now, fortunately my brother in law has the power saw, and seeing me struggle with the hacksaw he was took pity on me and in a jiffy he cut all the pieces.
To make the stamp support you can use even recycled materials such as plastic caps, broken tiles or pieces of wood found here and there ... Of course the effect of all of a kind supports is really beautiful!

Then I used acrylic colors to stamp the back of each support.

Finally I glued each letter on the corresponding support. Attention to paste the letters mirrored!
