Ma non so come mai, ogni volta che mi mettevo ad osservare quella moltitudine di pezzetti rettangolari, così belli divisi per colore… mi dispiaceva separarli, e quindi li lasciavo lì intatti, e i campionari si sono accumulati…
E così sono giunta al punto di dover scegliere tra avere un marito sempre accigliato perchè ad ogni sportello che apriva saltavano fuori tessuti (che pensavo di aver nascosto molto bene…) e correre il rischio di usarli finalmente.
Ho capitolato per la prima idea che mi era venuta in mente, e che avevo subito accantonato perchè mi sembrava troppo scontata, e cioè di fare una coperta patchwork. Però ragionandoci ho anche pensato che era un modo per tenere insieme tutte quelle stoffe con motivi diversi ma della stessa tonalità, che era la cosa che mi affascinava di più.
Ed ecco il primo risultato, un trapuntino da salotto
In vista del periodo natalizio ho utilizzato il rosso.
Per raggiungere le dimensioni adatte ho realizzato un bordo in tinta unita tutto attorno al motivo patchwork, nello stesso tessuto che ho utilizzato per il retro.
Gli incroci tra i vari quadrati non sono precisissimi, ma il mio obiettivo non era quello di fare un lavoro perfetto, ma di puntare sull’effetto del colore, lasciando un carattere spontaneo alla realizzazione.
Per mantenere ferma l’imbottitura, in poliestere, ho realizzato a mano delle piccole “X” in corrispondenza degli incroci.
L’effetto finale è quello che immaginavo: una coperta leggera e calda allo stesso tempo, pratica perchè si può lavare, allegra e unica.
Secondo me sarebbe un regalo di Natale bellissimo, e mi sto informando su come potrei venderla e spedirla
Nel frattempo ho messo mano al campionario verde e a quello blu…

Long time ago I asked on these pages some hints on how to use some fabric samples I had brought home from the office. You gave me lots of ideas, and I realized a bag and small clutches.
But I don’t know why, every time I began to observe the multitude of rectangular pieces, divided by color, so beautiful ... I was sorry to separate them, and then leave them there intact, and samples have accumulated ...
And so here I am, I must choose between having a husband always frowning because at every door that he opened fabricsjumped out (I thought I had hidden them very well...) and the risk of using them now.
I decided for the first idea I had, and that I had been shelved because it seemed too obvious, namely to make a patchwork quilt. But I also thought it was a way to hold together all the fabrics with different patterns and the same hue, the thing that fascinated me the most.
And here is the first result, a parlor quilt.
In view of the Christmas period I used red.
To reach the proper size, I made a solid edge all around the patchwork pattern, with the same fabric I used for the reverse.
The intersections between squares are not very precise, but my goal was not to do a perfect job, but to focus on the effect of color, leaving a spontaneous character to production.
To keep firm the padding, polyester, I made by hand small "X" stitches at these intersections.
The final effect is what I imagined: a light and warm blanket at the same time, practice because you can wash, cheerful and unique.
In my opinion it would be a wonderful Christmas gift, and I'm finding out about how I could sell and send it
In the meantime I put hand to the blue and green samples...
