Back from Sweden

Elisa ha indovinato: la meta delle mie vacanze quest'anno è stata la Svezia.
Che io ami la Scandinavia, il suo design, lo stile, lo spirito e il modo di vivere non è un mistero, per chi mi segue da un po' e ha letto, ad esempio, questo post.

Ma la Svezia ci ha affascinato già sei anni fa, quando l'abbiamo percorsa in fretta e furia per raggiungere la Finlandia durante il nostro viaggio di nozze in camper. Chilometro dopo chilometro ci ha stregato, e quando siamo stati bloccati a Stoccolma per tre giorni ci siamo accorti che in effetti sarebbe stato piacevole anche fermarci un po' di più...

Così ci siamo tornati quest'anno, un viaggio on the road in auto facendo un anello tra Goteborg, Malmo, Kalmar, Stoccolma, il lago Vattern, e una serie di tappe intermedie entusiasmanti quanto le città, e forse anche di più!

Quindi, con circa mille foto da riordinare che mi occuperanno per un po', per il momento posso lasciarvi la hit dell'estate svedese. Ci ha accompagnato in auto, e ci siamo pure trovati ad un'esibizione dal vivo della cantante... quelle coincidenze sorprendenti che rendono speciale un viaggio...
Anche se è cantata in svedese, ci troverete un riferimento italiano molto molto noto... ;-)

Elisa has guessed right: the destination of my holiday this year was Sweden.
I love Scandinavia, its design, style, spirit and way of life, and this is not a mistery for those who has read this blog for a while.
But Sweden has already attracted our hearts six years ago when we traveled through the Country in a hurry to get to Finland during our honeymoon in a motorhome. Mile after mile Sweden haunted us, and when we were stopped in Stockholm for three days we realized that it would have been nice stop for a little more ...
So we came back this year, a road trip making a ring between Goteborg, Malmo, Kalmar, Stockholm, Lake Vattern, and a series of milestones as exciting as the cities, and perhaps even more!
So, with about a thousand photos to rearrange I’ll be busy for a while; so for the moment I leave you the hit of the Swedish summer: it was our soundtrack oln the road and we even found a live performance by the singer ... those amazing coincidences that make a trip so special!
Although she sings in Swedish, you will find a reference to a very popular Italian singer, a 70’s icon...

Guess where are we going to?

Random Headbands

Io sono una frana con i capelli... non so fare acconciature, quando li devo tagliare sono in ansia che poi mi stiano male... e poi i miei sono così dritti e mosci come spaghetti scotti che si rifiutano di prendere la piega anche con le maniere forti, quindi davvero danno poche soddisfazioni... Ogni tanto mi ripropongo di curarli un po' di più, magari facendo una semplice coda, o usando qualche accessorio, come mollette o fasce...ma conoscendomi credo che l'ideale sia partire dall'accessorio più easy, e cioè il cerchietto.

Mi sono procurata dei cerchietti sottili a poco prezzo, li ho ricoperti con della stoffa avanzata da lavori precedenti, e poi mi sono sbizzarrita nel creare fiori e decorazioni per arricchirli.

Per ricoprirli ho tagliato una striscia di tessuto, che ho piegato nel senso della lunghezza e ho poi cucito su tre lati, in modo da ottenere una sorta di sacchettino lunghiiiissimo in cui infilare il cerchietto. L'ultimo lato, uno dei due corti, l'ho poi chiuso con piccoli punti a mano.

Per i fiori un po' mi sono ispirata ad alcuni tutorial, ne potete trovare qualcuno in questa mia board di Pinterest, e un po' ho inventato.

Se inizialmente ho pensato a qualcosa di più "tradizionale"...

Man mano che procedevo mi sono lasciata andare a righe, colori

 

 

grandi coccarde

e variazioni di materiali.

E incredibilmente, sono andati a ruba tre amiche, colleghe, amiche di amici ecc...
Ne è rimasto, per ora, solo uno, che trovate nel mio shop.

Una farfalla in strati di stoffa nei colori dell'estate. Il tessuto a quadretti è originale degli anni '50, mi era stato regalato a suo tempo dalla mamma di Giorgio.

Lo trovo fresco e delicato, ma al tempo stesso ironico.

 

E ora, per mantenere i buoni propositi, vado a farne uno anche per me...

I suck with hair…I’m not able to make any hairstyle, when I have to cut them I’m always anxious that they would be ugly ... and my hair are so straight and limp as overcooked spaghetti and refuse to keep any style also with the hard way, so really they give little satisfaction... Every time I intend to treat them a little better, perhaps by doing a simple ponytail, or using some accessory such as barrettes or bands... but knowing me I believe that the ideal is to start with the easiest accessory, the headband.
I purchased some cheap headbands, I covered them with remaining fabrics by previous work, and then I generously dispensed to create flowers and decorations to enrich them.
To cover them I cut a strip of fabric, which I folded in lengthwise and sewed on three sides, so you get a sort of looong bag in which thread the headband. I closed The last side, one short of the two,with small stitches by hand.
For the flowers I took inspirations from some tutorials, which you can find in my board on Pinterest, and I also invented.
If I initially thought of something more "traditional"...
As I proceeded I let myself go with stripes, colors
large rosettes
and variations of materials.
And amazingly, they went like hot cakes among friends and colleagues.

It remains, for now, only one, that you can find in my shop
A butterfly in layers of cloth in the colors of summer. The fabric is original from the '50s, Giorgio’s mother gave it to me some time ago.
I find it fresh and delicate, yet ironic.
And now, to keep the good intentions, I'll make one for me ...
